A lovely late 18th century oak Cardiganshire Welsh potbound dresser in native oak. The open plate rack, with pine back boards has a moulded cornice above four reeded shelves with brass hooks, over a base with three drawers with brass knobs, one drawer with bone escutcheon with lock and probably original key. The base sits over four turned legs united by a pot board base raised on applied bracket feet in matching oak. A lovely colour and patination. Provenance North Cardiganshire. A classic piece for your ‘gegin’ or your ‘rwm ore’ your ‘front room’ in today’s vernacular. These pieces remain trophies of our culture.
